Producers of Premium Australian Wagyu
The Hamblin family are first generation Wagyu breeders whose venture into this breed of cattle in the Blue Mountain region of Queensland at Strathdale began when the property, Strathdale, was purchased in 2000.
This led to what is currently 7 properties as part of the Strathdale wagyu operation.
Strathdale and Pandanus on the Central Coast, Orana Downs, May Downs, Windeyer Hill, and Derrandloc in Central Queensland.
The newest addition to the family production chain is the finishing operation at Struggle Downs, Leyburn on the Darling Downs.

Timeline
The Strathdale Wagyu operation history.

1996 – First "Strathdale" property purchased
The first portion of "Strathdale" located 40kms West of Sarina in the beautiful Blue Mountain Region was purchased.

2000 – Journey into wagyu production began
"Strathdale'’ the remainder of the property was purchased and the journey into wagyu production began.

2005 – "Orana Downs" property purchased
"Orana Downs" the first Brigalow property was purchased for the purpose of breeding and fattening the increasing wagyu herd.

2007 – "Struggle Downs" property purchased
The "Struggle Downs" property was purchased as a backgrounding property on the Darling Downs.

2011 – "May Downs" and "Derrandloc" purchased
A further two properties "May Downs" and "Derrandloc" purchased next to Orana to increase land for breeding.

2017 – "Pandanus" property purchased
"Pandanus" another coastal property was purchased just 15 minutes from Strathdale.

2023 – "Windeyer Hill" property purchased
"Windeyer Hill" – The broadacre cropping and cattle enterprise neighbouring the other Middlemount properties was purchased.

2023 – Feedlot construction began
MILESTONE – Commenced feedlot construction.
